The ‘8 Minutes or Less’ Interview

  1. What was your favourite subject in school?

In high school my favourite subject was social studies. In university my favourite subject has been art history.

  1. What is your favourite book?

I have read so many books throughout my life that are great, so it is very hard to choose a favourite. However, if I had to pick I would say my favourite book is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

  1. If you were going to write a book, what would you call it and what would it be about?

I really like reading historical fiction books so I feel like if I were to write a book it would be something that fell into that category. It would probably be something about social history during World War II and how people on the home front were directly impacted by the war. Probably something looking at the lives of some people the soldiers left behind. However, I have no clue what I would call it. I usually come up with titles for my written work after it is finished.

  1. What’s one of the scariest things you’ve ever done?

One of the scariest things I have ever done was move to Calgary. I am originally from Penticton, British Columbia and moved to Calgary to begin University in 2011 after I graduated high school. I have no family here which made leaving home more difficult. Also, I had to make all new friends as no one I knew was coming to U of C. I lived in residence and instantly met people that I am still friends with and have come to love the city, but it was definitely daunting to move here with the fear of being alone in a new place.

  1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I changed my mind many times throughout my childhood about what I wanted to be. I know a few of the things I wanted to be were a ballerina, a vet, a fashion designer, an interior designer, a police officer, and a teacher.

  1. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?

There are so many places in the world that I would love to visit. Right now I would really love to go to Thailand. I have never traveled to South East Asia and would love to experience the different cultures in that region of the world. The beaches and coastline look beautiful and there are many different activities to do as well as places and sites to go and see. Also, I love Thai food and being able to eat that every day on vacation would be fantastic!
